In the coming years, moving forward ambitiously with the next stages of CleanBC is equally as critical. For renters, there will be rent freezes through the end of 2021 and a permanent cap on increases to the rate of inflation from 2022 onwards. New ones include an income-tested rent supplement, to replace the 2017 payment that didn’t materialize, and making transit free for children under 12. In an economy that works for everyone, we must do everything we can to make sure workers earn a good livelihood, feel a sense of security in the work they do, and – above all else – stay healthy and safe in the workplace.
